A Pup

Meet Phoebe (aka Bwuddabwudda, Bwud-Bwuds, Littles, Fee-B, Zoomby, Puppy McPupster the Dog, et al.)

She was a pitbull mixed with more pitbull. A sweeter, more enthusiastic character I've never met.

She came to us from a wonderful volunteer rescue called Rocket Dog and kept us joyfully busy from 2009-2020.

When I need an infusion of joy, I look at one of the roughly gajillion photos we have of her.

People who know me well regularly ask: "When are you gonna get another dog?"

One definitely true answer is: I'm afraid I'll expect that hypothetical dog to be the companion Fee-B was. To spare that poor, guiltless creature from my inevitable judgment and disdain, I've chosen to live the rest of my days with a pitbull-shaped void in my core.

Another possibly true answer: tomorrow.

These things are subject to change.
