Career Navigation

When a partner whooshes through my doorway, eyes lit by opportunity, the air takes on a charge.

These conversations matter.

They affect our families, our health, and our lifestyle. They help us find pride and purpose. They’re where we clarify who we are in our professional lives, decide who we’ll become, and cultivate the conditions that’ll propel this evolution forward.

Conditions like support, mentorship, recognition, and respect. Opportunities to grow, learn, and deploy hard-earned expertise. Space to collaborate, support, or lead. The chance to make a difference.

When a partner clarifies their unique version of success, they’re not painting a pretty picture; they’re building tools that equip them to approach their career with intention and purpose.

It’s a privilege to support my partners in the work of awakening possibility.

Q:  What’s this work?

A: Clarifying and building the professional life that meets a partner’s unique needs.

What?
Who?

Q:  Who's it for?

A: For people looking for support as they set and pursue a vision for their careers.

How?

Q:  How does it happen?

A: Initiative, a goal, an opportunity, or a challenge often prompts a partner to open the conversation.

As an early step in this work, I often encourage partners to identify their current professional needs and the ones they expect to have in ten years. A clear, thoughtful articulation of needs can help a partner find the paths and destinations that truly meet them.  These conversations often take on new life when we have them outside our own heads.

Depending on a partner’s needs, we sometimes produce tools like:

  • A clear articulation of what they want from their career now and in the future

  • A compelling description of professional identity that says: “This is who I am and what I bring to my profession.”

  • A career plan

  • A reinvigorated resume, a carefully tailored cover letter, or a refreshed Linked In profile

  • A thoughtful approach to an important interview

  • A plan for negotiating a compensation package that reflects a partner’s true value (and that eliminates gender and racial pay gaps while they’re at it)

Benefits?

Q:  What’s it done for your partners?

A: Some have found new jobs they love (and that are still imperfect). Others have explored new paths. And still others have begun clarifying their long-term goals and direction while enjoying the fact that they’re right where they want to be for now.

All have found insights and clarity that have helped them approach their careers with intention and rigor.
